Looking for something fun to add to your running calendar this October?

Friends of Box School (FOBS) are delighted to bring back the Colour Run & 5K Trail Run, raising funds to support Box Primary School.

Set in the beautiful village of Box, Wiltshire, this is a community event with something for everyone — whether you're a keen runner, a casual jogger, or simply looking for a fun afternoon with family and friends.

The Colour Run

We’ll kick off the afternoon with our 800m Colour Run — and be prepared to get messy!

With four colourful powder stations around the course, this vibrant, fun-filled run is all about enjoying yourself rather than racing against the clock. Walk, jog or run your way around the course while our enthusiastic volunteers do their best to cover you in colour!

The Colour Run is non-competitive and suitable for all ages and abilities.

The course consists of two laps around the event site, with friendly marshals and clear signage to guide you along the way. You can choose to complete one or two laps, so you can make it as relaxed or energetic as you like.

Bring your friends, bring your family and get ready for an afternoon packed with colour, community and plenty of fun!

The 5K Trail Run

Once the Colour Run has finished, we’ll get the 5K Trail Run underway.

The route takes runners out into the beautiful Bybrook Valley, following a fully signposted and marshalled loop through the surrounding countryside.

This mixed-terrain 5K includes grassy fields and stunning views, with the route taking in the impressive Box Tunnel. Keep your eyes peeled along the Bybrook too — if you're lucky, you might even spot an otter!

Whether you're looking to challenge yourself, enjoy a scenic run or simply take part in a great local event, this 5K has something for everyone.

All 5K participants will receive a chip-timed result, provided by our friendly local timing team, raceahead of Corsham.

Supporting Box Primary School

Following the success of our 2025 event, the FOBS 5K Trail Run & Colour Run is back by popular demand!

The event is organised by parents and volunteers from Box Primary School and is open to everyone — you don't need to have a child at the school to take part.

All profits from the event will go towards enhancing the experience, opportunities and wellbeing of the children at Box Primary School.

Awards & Prizes

All finishers will receive a certificate.

Event Information

Race HQ & Registration
Race HQ will be located on the Recreation Ground, close to the start and finish area.
All 5k bibs need to be collected on the day and all colour runners need to collect a wristband.  Registration opens at 12:30pm so come down early and avoid the rush.

Refreshments
Tea, coffee, delishcious cakes and light bites will be available to purchase throughout the afternoon.

Parking
Parking facilities are limited, so we encourage participants and spectators to walk, cycle or car share wherever possible.

Toilets
Toilets are available in the Pavilion.
